Global nuclear war. When i was a child growing up in the 1970s and 1980s i had terrible nightmares of nuclear war. Threads and The Day After which aired in 1984, did not help. I was petrified. I still fear nuclear war today, but i have leant to overcome my fear as i realise as an adult that we all die eventualy and part of my fear was the fear of death which i have now largely overcome having faced death due to losing family and friends over the years. But i dont particularly want to die in a nuclear war. Especially to have survived it and suffer from a painful death with radiation sickness. There are better ways of dying, preferably dying in bed in your dreams ! . I hope for the sake of our children and children's children and also for the sake of Planet Earth it never happens, because if it does then all that will be left of Earth is a new asteroid belt and lots of rubble.
