I am very pleased indeed. Everyone has a right to have access to drugs that can prolong or saves lifes. I think it is obscene that patrients are refused them. Priorty should be given to cancer patients without any argument or doubt. No questions asked. How dare people in authority make decisions that could see a life ended because of red tape or political correctness. Thank God my Mother did not have to face that, because if that had been the case, then by God i would have been banging on the door of Number 10 until they let me in. I would not have rested until they backed off.
I hope now that the NHS and the Goverment will finally take stock and listen to the PEOPLE, the patients themselves and not a bunch of accountants. They may be able to afford private treatment on BUPA or whatever, considering their salries. but the rest of us mortals do not have mortgages paid at tax payers expense, nor do we have a John Lewis shopping list from which we can use. That's something else for them to think about. As to NICE that should be scrapped altogether. I for one would pay extra tax if it menas that someone somewhere will be provided the drugs they need to treat their cancer.
It is time people in this country stood up for what is right. if one sick man can do it, there is no excuse why the rest of us cannot do the same.
