M*A*S*H Night
Aug. 6th, 2007 11:47 pmYou know, i'd forgotten how godod this show was. I remember watching this way back in the early 1980's but now oh a good 20 odd years later i am watching M*A*S*H again thanks to an internet download site. The episodes were brilliantly written, funny, witty, and sometimes a serious social/political comment on not only the inhumanity of war but of man's cruelty to each other. And 20 years on i have experienced enough in life to pick up on the humour that i could not possibily have appreciated as a teenager. The sad thing is that the stories from the 4077th M*A*S*H are as relevant today as it was back then. I think that says something about the lack of progress we a a human race have made. So i raise a glass to the fictional characters of Hawkeye, Colonel Potter, BJ, Radar, Hotlips, Corporal Klinger, Major Winchester., Father Mulcady and past characters such as Trapper, Colonel Blake and of course the by the book Major Frank Burns. And i raise a glass to the actors that played them with wit and well acted cratfsmanship. They enetertained me as i saw my teenage years and they have entertained me now, particularly now as i feel so depressed right now. Thanks for the memories guys.
